Many major cities around the world offer direct flights to Maputo, Mozambique's capital. From Maputo, you can catch a scheduled flight to either Beira or Chimoio.
Once there, you can drive to Gorongosa via the Inchope junction. Transfers can also be pre-arranged from either airport, or you have the option to rent a car at Beira airport.
Beira Airport is a four-hour drive from Gorongosa National Park, whereas Chimoio Airport is only a three-hour drive away.
The cost of a Gorongosa safari will depend on various factors, including but not limited to where you stay, when you're visiting, and what activities you wish to partake in. However, as a guideline, the price per person per day is usually around $510 - $1100.
Mozambique, a tropical paradise, experiences two main seasons: the wet season from November to March and the dry season from April to October. The dry season offers ideal weather for your Mozambique safari adventures.
During the wet season, the Gorongosa National Park is closed from mid-December until the end of March. After reopening, some game drive roads may remain closed until they’re safe to drive on.
